Udhagamandalam: Pritham Das of Bangalore returned a card of three over 75 on the second day to go with his first round score of eight over 78 to emerge champion in the A and B categories of the VTX South zone junior and sub-junior golf championship at the Ootacamund Golf Club course here on Wednesday. The second day saw a major swing on the leader board. B.R. Raja of Bangalore, who held the lead on the first day, had a bad round with a 44 on the first nine and a 41 on the second. He started the day with a one-stroke lead on Pradumana Prakash of Chennai, who also had a bad round with a six over 41 on the first nine and a 38 on the second. Raja finished the championship with a two-day tally of 19 over 159 whereas Pradumana had a score of 14 over 154. The championship, played over two days covering 36 holes, saw the participation of a couple of girls and three Toda boys, who have been training at the OGC since last year. This is the first leg of the year's circuit and will be followed by seven other tournaments in other centres in the south. The results: Group A: 1. Pritham Haridas (Bangalore), 2. Pradumana Prakash (Chennai). Group B: 1. Pritham Haridas, 2. Tarun Veeraraghavan. Group C: 1. Kanisk Hingorani (Bangalore), 2. Chikka Rangiah (Bangalore). Group D: 1. Rahul Ravi (Bangalore), 2. Saqib Ahmed (Bangalore).
