Yamini in final

BANGALORE: Yamini Reddy defeated third seed Rachita Sarda 6-2, 7-6(5) to enter the semifinals of the Indian Jaycees AITA- KSLTA Talent Series tennis tournament here on Wednesday. Yamini will meet Nimisha Mohan who beat top seed Sharmada Balu 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the second semifinal.

In the boys' section, the top seed M. Vaswani bowed out beaten by fourth seed Sujith Sachidananda. Second seed Varun Gunassheelan however played true to form and beat Soodha Luv of Gujarat.

The results (semifinals): Girls: Under-14: Yamini Reddy (Kar) bt Rachita Sarda (Kar) 6-2, 7-6(5); Nimisha Mohan (Kar) bt Sharmada Balu (Kar) 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Under-16: Sayali Bhilare (Mah) bt Ravina Shetty (Kar) 7-6, 6-3; Prathana Pratap (Kar) bt Yamini Reddy (Kar) 6-3,7-6.

Boys: Under-14: Rasheen Samuel (Kar) bt Advaith Kirtane (Kar) 6-4, 6-1; Praveen Ramaswamy (Kar) bt Varun Gopal (Mah) 6-2, 6-3. Doubles: Praveen Ramaswamy & Rohan Gaonkar bt Prabhal Shetty & Rishi Dabraj 6-2, 6-1; R. Vigneswaran & S.S. Prithvi bt S. Prashanth & M. Niayz 6-1, 6-4.

Under-16: Varun Gunaseelan (TN) bt Soodha Luv (Guj) 6-2, 6-1; Sujith Sachidanand (Kar) bt M. Vaswani (Kar) 6-2, 6-3.
