CPI(M) plans to take to the streets

State asked to fulfil poll promises

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) will lay siege to revenue offices, including Collectorates, from May 20 to June 5 to put pressure on the Congress Government to fulfil its pre-poll promises.

This was announced here by the CPI(M) polit bureau member, B.V. Raghavulu, at a meeting conducted to mark the conclusion of the party's 250-km padayatra in the city to take up problems confronting the people. Later, the party leaders gave the applications received during the 12-day programme to officials concerned.

The meeting was addressed, among others, by the party State Secretariat member, Ch. Narsinga Rao, and the city unit secretary, K. Loknadham.

Mr. Raghavulu. wanted to give advance notice to the Government on the demands.

Later, the participants of the padayatra - Dharma Rao, Salim, Prabhavati, Padma, Venkat Reddy and others - were felicitated.
