CHITRADURGA: The pass percentage in Chitradurga district in the SSLC examination this year has improved, but the ranking of the district has slipped to 17th place from 11th last year. Last year the district recorded a pass percentage of 54, while this year it improved to 61.81. This year, the number of schools, which have achieved 100 per cent success, rose to nine while it was three last year. Four schools in Chitradurga have achieved a pass percentage of 100. They are SJM English Medium High School, Vidya Vikas High School, Rotary School and Parswanatha High School. Akka Mahadevi High School of Bharamasagara in Chitradurga taluk too has achieved this feat. Warrier High School and M.G. High School in Challakere taluk, and General Kariyappa Residential School and Government High School in Hosadurga taluk too have achieved this honour. According to sources in Education Department, three high schools in the district have the dubious distinction of not a single student passing the examination.
Toppers
Four students have scored 600 marks out of 625. They are Vidya K. and Vishwas H.R. from Vidya Vikas High School, and Sowmya K. from Regional High School, Chitradurga, and Brijesh from Assumption High School, Hiriyur.
