Toll tax plaza

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday opened its second fully-computerised nine-lane toll tax plaza at Singhu border in North Delhi. On April 14, the first toll plaza was commissioned at Badarpur border, while the civic body plans to put the same mechanism at its remaining seven other inter-State borders soon.

Interestingly, the Corporation plans to put in place an "Intelligent Transport System" at the plaza that would not only scan, identify and turn back the entry of vehicles not destined for Delhi but also help in preventing entry of unwanted contraband goods, including arms and ammunition into the Capital.
