Letters to the Editor
By refusing to give up its decision to boycott Parliament, the NDA is losing a good opportunity to play the role of a constructive Opposition. The UPA Government is trying to push through proposals such as the fringe benefit tax, which will make the bureaucracy very powerful without accountability. This should be stopped and the BJP should not remain indifferent at this crucial juncture.
R. Raghavendra Ravi,
* * * The chaos in Parliament is yet another proof of the deteriorating standard of our democracy in general and politicians in particular. Both the NDA and the UPA are to be blamed for the current state of affairs. We seriously need to put a system in place through which we can recall the politicians who do not fulfil their promises and shirk their responsibility.
A. Digu,
