VELLORE: The Vellore Collector, S. Gopalakrishnan, distributed certificates to banks, which fully achieved the target for sanction of loans under the Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) (self-employment scheme) during 2003-04, in the Collectorate here on Wednesday. He gave away mementos to the district coordinators of banks, which exceeded the PMRY target. He said as against a target of 1,000 beneficiaries fixed for the PMRY in Vellore district in 2003-04, self-employment loans were given to 1,068 persons. In 2004-05, against a target of 1,250, loans were given to 1,252 persons. Loans were disbursed to 338 persons till April 27. He asked the bank officials to ensure that loans were disbursed immediately.
