Stop A.P.'s `illegal' projects, team urges Centre
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
An all-party delegation from Karnataka on Thursday urged the Centre to intervene and restrain Andhra Pradesh from putting up "illegal and unapproved" irrigation projects, which they said would affect the people of the State.
Leading the delegation, the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, told the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, that the Centre should intervene immediately to protect the rights of the people of Karnataka with regard to surplus waters of the Krishna basin and not clear any projects of A.P.
"It may also use its authority to restrain Andhra Pradesh from going ahead with unapproved projects," the delegation said in a memorandum.
