Ceasefire extended

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The ceasefire between the Centre and the Khaplang faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) was extended by a year from Thursday.

The decision was taken at a review meeting between officials of the Home Ministry and the Nagaland Government and NSCN-K representatives here, official sources said.

Both sides saw the extension of ceasefire as the only way of moving towards a permanent solution to the Naga issue, the sources said.
