HYDERABAD: Indian Airlines (IA) has launched an Equated Monthly Instalment (EMI) scheme in association with Citibank to target vacation travellers. In view of the growing segment of credit card holders who prefer to use the deferred payment schemes to purchase goods and services, IA also has a similar scheme with the ICICI bank, according to an IA release. In this scheme, a passenger with his Citibank card has to only indicate his preference at the counter for the deferred payment option while purchasing any Indian Airlines or Alliance Air Domestic / International economy class tickets on rupee tariff. The passenger can make the payment in 10 interest free EMI with the first instalment being the down payment. Tickets under the scheme can be purchased only through Indian Airlines offices at the six cities -- Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. The scheme can be availed for all discounted fares, special fares and all current promotional schemes, i.e. Smart Super Saver, Holiday Packages etc. The scheme will not be available for bid and fly and on line bookings. The scheme is valid till March 31, 2006. For more details one may contact 1407 or log on www.indianairlines.in.
