Court declines to stay medical counselling
Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The High Court on Thursday made it clear that the counselling and admission process for post-graduate medical courses in the State should be completed as per schedule. It, however, said a final picture would emerge only after verdict on the writ petition challenging the new process was delivered.
Justice G. Rohini was dealing with a writ petition filed by Kaladhara and others. The petitioners contended that the method adopted by the authorities was violative of the full Bench judgment.
It may be recalled that the full Bench found fault with the seat matrix prepared by the authorities and quashed the same. After the judgment GO 123 was issued and the present writ petition was filed challenging the same. The petitioners contended that injustice would be done to students from the SC, BC categories.
Justice Rohini made it clear that the court was not inclined to stay the process which had begun subsequent to the judgment of the full Bench and adjourned the hearing to June 14.
