NEW DELHI: V.V.S. Laxman n Thursday, signed up as the brand ambassador for blind cricket in India. After watching blind cricketers from India and Pakistan play in the first of the five-match Indo-Pak Petro Cup series at Jamia ground, Laxman said that he drew immense inspiration from them. "If they are able to play despite the obvious adversity, I can surely work hard and hopefully come back stronger when I don India colours the next time," Laxman said.

Meanwhile, the Indian team defeated World champion Pakistan by nine wickets in the first one-dayer of the Petro Cup Cricket for the blind. Invited to bat, Pakistan made 156 runs in 25 overs. India reached the target in the 18th over with Rajendra Verma remaining not out on 84.
