LUCKNOW: At least 23 people were killed, 12 received serious burn injuries, over 50 cattlehead perished and more than 100 houses gutted in separate fires ignited by duststorm at different places in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Reports reaching the State police headquarters here said that nine persons died and four were injured in Bharehpur village under Kotwali Fatehpur of Farrukhabad district yesterday in a devastating fire which gutted 115 houses as the flames kindled by duststorm spread rapidly. Eight persons were charred to death in two similar incidents of fire at Makkhanpur and Eka police circles of Ferozabad district. --PTI
