JAIPUR: Senior journalist and writer, Rajendra Prasad Bohra, died here on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. Mr. Bohra, former deputy director of Doordarshan, Jaipur and former producer with the BBC Hindi service in London, was 58. He is survived by his wife and two sons. The former Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot and the State secretary of the Communist Party of India, Dushyant Ojha on Thursday condoled the demise of Mr. Bohra. In their condolence message the leaders remembered Mr. Bohra's association with the progressive movement in Rajasthan as a writer, critic and poet. The director, DD Jaipur, Nand Bhardwaj expressed grief over the passing away of Mr. Bohra. A condolence meeting was held at the Doordarshan premises here this afternoon. Mr. Bohra, who had started his career in the print media, later joined the All India Radio. From Prasar Bharti he went gone on a deputation for three years to work with the BBC as a producer. Two years back he took voluntary retirement from Doordarshan. Mr. Bohra's anthology of Hindi poems, "Aao Pahar Par Chalen,'' published in 1982, was well received. He is also the translator of Saul Bellow's novel, "Seize the Day'' into Hindi.
