NEW DELHI: The Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, on Thursday met the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, and is understood to have held discussions on the current turmoil in the State unit of the party, triggered by factional fighting. The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the `I' faction led by the veteran Congress leader K. Karunakaran and his son and former KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan, giving clear signals that it might chart its ``own'' course at a crucial May 1 convention in Thrissur. Mr. Chandy, however, refused to speak to reporters after the meeting. - PTI
