MANGALORE: As many as 4,000 students will appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) in eight centres in Dakshina Kannada district on May 3 and 4. Of the eight centres, seven are in the city. They are Canara Pre-University College, Besant Pre-University College, Ganapathi Pre-University College, Milagris Pre-University College (Hampankatta), St. Ann's Pre-University College (near Head Post Office), St. Agnes Pre-University College (near Bendoorwell) and Government Pre-University College for Women, Balmata. The eighth test centre is St. Philomena Pre-University College, Puttur. The tests will be held in these centres on both the days. The Deputy Commissioner, Arvind Shrivastav, will be the Chief Superintendent for the conduct of the CET. The principals of the respective colleges will function as Deputy Chief Superintendents. Mr. Shrivastav has appointed eight officials as in-charge of the centres. Hall tickets to candidates have already been dispatched.
