HYDERABAD: Knowledge and skills of nearly two-lakh students across the State would be put to test at the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test -- 2005 (EAMCET) to be held in 390 centres across the State on Friday. The EAMCET-2005 convener, L.V.A.R. Sarma, told The Hindu that 1,17,500 candidates are appearing for the engineering test while 79,500 are taking the medical test. The Minister for Technical Education, Nayani Narsimha Reddy, will pick up the code of the set at 6 a.m. at JNTU. The engineering test would be conducted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 236 centres and the medical test from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in 154 centres. Dr. Sarma made it clear that candidates would not be allowed into the examination hall even if they are one minute late and asked them to be present an hour before the scheduled time at the test centre. They would be allowed into the examination hall 30 minutes before the test time. He said sharpened HB pencils would be supplied in the examination hall and students need to bring their own erasers and sharpeners. Students could take their own pencils also but it would be better if they used the pencils supplied by officials.
