Jewellery taken away

Thieves took away gold ornaments weighing 30 tolas and Rs. 80,000 in cash from the house of Reddenna, a retired General Manager of the State Trading Corporation, at Siddarthanagar under the S.R. Nagar police station area on Thursday.

Reddenna and his wife went to the hospital for medical check-up when thieves broke into his house. His mother-in-law and daughter were in the house when the crime was committed.

Woman attacked

A man allegedly slashed the wrists of a woman with a blade while she was going to the working- women's hostel at Madhuranagar on Thursday. Rahul allegedly picked up an argument with Roshini when she refused to divulge details of her mobile phone and in a fit of rage slashed her wrists.

Found dead in well

A housewife, M. Laxmi (58), who was missing from Monday, was found dead in the well of her house at Vinobhanagar in Lalapet on Wednesday. The victim was mentally unsound, the Osmania University police said.

Man `thrashed'

A man who came to the Nampally criminal court to depose evidence in a case was beaten up allegedly by two persons outside the 15th Metropolitan Magistrate Court hall on Wednesday. Md. Siddique of Shahinayatgunj charged that two persons -- Sohail Mallik and Waheb Mallik -- against whom he was giving evidence, beat him up when he came out of the court.
