Proceedings against police officer stayed

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday stayed criminal proceedings initiated against Chandramouli, senior police officer of the City Police.

Justice Thamada Gopalakrishna issued the stay orders. Chandramouli filed a criminal petition challenging the initiation of proceedings against him.

He alleged these were not fair and were liable to be set aside.

Appointments

Hundreds of candidates fighting a legal battle since 1990 for postings as Group IV employees of the State Government got a reprieve on Thursday when the High Court directed authorities to give them appointments. A division bench of the High Court was allowing a batch of writ petitions.
