Cartoon blue film racket smashed

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested by the Central Delhi police for allegedly selling compact discs with pornographic content in cartoon form.

The Special Staff of the Central Delhi had got a tip-off about some persons selling such CDs. On Wednesday, a decoy customer was sent to the suspect. He struck a deal with the suspect, identified as Uma Shankar, in his shop at Raigarpura in Karol Bagh. The waiting police team then nabbed him. Another supplier, Raju Gupta, who too was present in the shop, was also arrested.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that they had procured the CDs from a person in Palika Bazar, Connaught Place. Subsequently, the police conducted a raid and arrested accused, Tejpal, at his shop. In all, the police recovered 1,250 CDs from the accused.

The accused, who have no previous criminal record, told the police that they would procure the master copies of such CDs, replicate it in large numbers and sell in the market.
