BANGALORE: Two armed men barged into a journalist's house in J.C. Nagar Police Station limits on Wednesday night and robbed him and his colleague of cash, gold jewellery and electronic gadgets. The assailants robbed two hotel employees, who had gone to the house to deliver food, the police said. Around 11.30 p.m., Balu Mohan and his colleague, Prajith, both staffers of an English daily, went to the former's house at Sonnappa Block in Marappa Garden after ordering food at a nearby hotel. When there was a knock, Mr. Mohan opened the door thinking that food had arrived. But instead two men armed with a knife barged in and closed the door. They picked another knife from the house and robbed Mr. Mohan and Mr. Prajith of Rs. 600, a gold chain, a ring, a mobile phone and a VCD player, the police said. When the robbers were still in the house, two hotel employees, Kapoor and Saleem, came there and knocked on the door. One of the robbers, who opened the door, dragged the two into the house and robbed them of Rs. 400, the police said. While leaving the house, the robbers latched the door from outside. Mr. Mohan called the police from another mobile phone. The J.C. Nagar police swung into action and arrested one of the suspects, Jabi (18) of Marappa Garden, and recovered from him the gold chain and the ring. Search is on for Jabi's accomplice, the police said.
