KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday upheld the stipulation in the prospectus for the medical post-graduate courses that all candidates, including in-service candidates such as lecturers, should obtain a minimum of 50 per cent marks in the entrance examination for admission to the courses. Justice K.K. Dinesan upheld the stipulation while dismissing a few writ petitions filed by some of the in-service candidates challenging the clauses in the prospectus making applicable the minimum marks to the in-service candidates as well. Earlier, the in-service candidates were given admission directly to the post-graduate courses depending on their seniority. The court also ordered that 50 per cent allotment of seats specialty-wise should be made as practically as possible between in-service candidates and open merit candidates.
