KOCHI: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Chief Secretary to discuss at the conference of Secretaries the issue relating to the preparation and printing of SSLC question papers by using hi-tech facilities and also a proposal to maintain confidentiality of question papers until they are released at the respective centres. The vacation Bench comprising Justice V. Ramkumar and Justice K.T. Sankaran also directed the Chief Secretary to place the proposals after the discussion either before the Chief Minister or the Cabinet for final decision, and communicate it to the court. The court declined a plea for ordering a judicial inquiry into the SSLC question paper leak. The court said that it could not and would not order a judicial inquiry. In fact, it was for the Government to ponder over the issue of ordering a judicial inquiry, the court said. The court issued the directions when a writ petition filed by P.V. Raju, secretary, Teachers Forum to Save Education, Kerala, came up. He sought a direction to the Chief Secretary not to entrust the preparation and printing of question papers with private agencies.
