Margao: Sporting Clube de Goa kept itself on course for the title when it scored a resounding 5-2 win over Vasco in the 20th round of the National Football League played at Nehru Stadium here on Friday. With this win, Sporting, which has played two matches more than East Bengal and Dempo, leads the table with 42 points from 20 matches with East Bengal (39 points) and Dempo (38 points) following it. For Vasco, it was its 11th defeat and now it was relegated to the second division with 17 points from 20 matches. Sporting scored through Dudu Omagbemi (8, 50, 86), Edeh Chidi (37) and Wilton Gomes (68) while Sidney Rodrigues (34) and substitute Levy Coelho (75) reduced the margin for Vasco. Dudu, who was the leading scorer with 20 goals, was declared the Man of the Match for his three goals. PTI
