Three share lead

BANGALORE: Karnataka's Sriram Sarja shared the lead along with IM Sudhakar Babu of Indian Bank and Rahul Shetty of Indian Airlines with 5.5 points each after six rounds of the first Garden City open international rating chess tournament here on Friday.

The results:

Sixth round: IM N. Sudhakar Babu (5.5) drew N. Sanjay (5); IM Rahul Shetty (5.5) bt S.S. Soman (4.5); K.V. Shantharam (4.5) lost to Sriram Sarja (5.5); IM Venkatesh M.R. (4.5) drew with Sethuraman S.P. (5); IM Saptharshi R. Chowdhury (5) bt Alex Thomas (4); C. Natarajan (4) lost to IM R. Bandopadyaya (5); Aswin Jayaram (4) lost to IM V. Sravanan (5); Vijayakeerthy (4.5) drew with Syed Anwar (4.5); O.T. Anil Kumar (5) bt Y.G. Vijendra (4); D.P. Singh (5) bt Venkata S. (4).

Fifth round: Sethuraman S.P. (4.5) drew with IM Rahul Shetty (4.5); S.S. Soman (4.5) drew with K.V. Shantharam (4.5); Y.G. Vijendra (4) lost to IM Sudhakar Babu (5); N. Sanjay (4.5) bt Abhiban B.
