HYDERABAD: The Pradesh Returning Officer of the Congress, G. S. Basavaraj, and the assistant returning officer for the APCC elections, Daljit Singh, announced that the list of district Congress chiefs would be announced in a couple of days. Talking to presspersons here on Friday, they announced that K. Keshava Rao had been unanimously elected the APCC president as his was the only nomination filed. They said the delay in announcing the PCC delegates' list was more due to the fact that 46 names were yet to be finalised by the active members, whereas 542 names had already been cleared. In all, 56,240 booth committees had been formed and 540 block committees so far. They said the APCC elections had been conducted in a cordial atmosphere with the cooperation of all members. There could be no room for any complaint regarding any injustice to any social group too as adequate representation had been given to the weaker sections and minorities. More than 100 women found place in the APCC delegates' list. They said that the members of the APCC executive would also be constituted at the earliest.
