SALEM: The first Additional District Sessions judge, D. Krishna Raja, on Friday sentenced two persons to life for murdering one Thangavel near Mallur following election rivalry during the 2001 Panchayat elections. It was said that Seva Gounder, Thambipayyan, Ponnuvel and Kasipayyan belonging to a particular political party attacked a group of cadres of another political party.In the attack Thangavel died.
