ERODE: The Association of University Teachers (AUT) will intensify their agitation against the management of Erode Arts College, said the AUT State president, N. Senthamarai, here today. In a statement he said the AUT took strong exception to the attitude of the management in granting the demands of the teachers despite repeated representations. He said it was highly deplorable that the management continued its defiant stance irrespective of the initiatives taken by the vice-chancellor of Bharathiar University and Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Coimbatore. He said the teachers would intensify their agitation from May 2. A State-level relay-fast would be held in front of the college on May 5, in which college teachers from all over the State belonging to the AUT would participate. On May 6, they would organise a dharna in front of the college in which various associations would participate. On May 9, the AUT would organise a dharna at Chennai. On May 10, the AUT central executive members would organise a fast.
