TIRUCHI: : The president of the Vaiyampatti panchayat, M. Krishnan, has been dismissed by the Collector, V.Pandian, on charges of misappropriating about Rs.1.42 lakhs of the panchayat's tax revenue. Mr. Pandian, in a release issued here on Friday, said Mr.Krishnan failed to discharge his duties properly and there was enough evidence to indicate that he had misappropriated Rs.1.42 lakhs of the tax revenue. Hence, he was being dismissed under the provisions of Sec.205 (11) of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, Mr. Pandian said.
