HYDERABAD: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) will develop the Errakunta lake in Saidabad at a cost of Rs. 1.20 crore in a year on the lines of the Shyamalkunta lake and Yousufguda lake, the Mayor, T. Krishna Reddy, said here on Friday. A park would be developed on a five-acre extent around the lake located on a sprawling 13-acre site. "There will be lots of greenery, pathways, a swimming pool and gymnasium for the convenience of the local populace," he said after visiting the place here today. He also suggested the setting up of a sewage treatment plant to save the lake from pollution. On public demand, six more ghats would be added at the local Hindu graveyard located next to the lake. He also inspected road-widening works on the Saidabad police station-IS Sadan stretch and said that it would be made into a 100 feet road - for some distance the width would be 80 feet - to ease the congestion. Senior officials of various civic departments accompanied him.
