Three new constituencies in Haveri Zilla Panchayat

HAVERI: Three constituencies have been added to the Haveri Zilla Panchayat, taking the total number of seats in the panchayat to 32. The number of seats in taluk panchayats has increased from 109 to 118 after the delimitation of constituencies carried out by the State Election Commission.

The new zilla panchayat constituenices are Kundur in Shiggaon taluk, Naregal in Hangal taluk, and Joisara Haralahalli in Ranebennur taluk. Haveri taluk gets two additional taluk panchayat constituencies in Katenahalli and Guttal. Ranebennur Rural and Honnatti in Ranebennur taluk, Kod and Hullatti in Hirekerur, Andalagi in Shiggaon, Gondi and Kanchinegalur in Hangal taluks are the other new constituencies.

After the delimitation, the number of seats in taluk panchayats is as follows: Shiggaon, 13; Savanur, 11; Hangal, 21; Haveri, 20; Byadgi, 11; Hirekerur, 20; and Ranebennur, 22.
