DHARMAPURI: The Revenue Divisional Officer, C. Prakasam, placed three Village Administrative Officers (VAOs) in Dharmapuri under suspension on charges of dereliction of duty. The Collectorate sources said that the VAO of Virupatchipuram, Bairavan, was suspended for failing to alert the district administration on the reported death of a female infant in the Dharmapuri Government Hospital a few days ago. The VAO of Chettikarai, Ganapathi, was placed under suspension for not providing proper revenue records in the Jamabandhi before the District Revenue Officer, C. Natarajan. Similarly, the Village Administrative Officer of Vetrapatti, Palanivel, was suspended for not providing proper information on the movement of illicit arrack in the area.
