ISLAMABAD: The Chief Election Commissioner, T. S. Krishnamurthy, currently on a goodwill visit here, will exchange views on electoral management in India with his Pakistani counterpart. Mr. Krishnamurthy on a four-day visit at the invitation of the country's acting Chief Election Commissioner, Abdul Hameed Dogar, has a busy schedule. He will call on the Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz, and the Chief Minister of Punjab Province, Pervez Elahi, besides visiting Peshawar. A few months ago, the Pakistan CEC was in India at the invitation of Mr. Krishnamurthy On his arrival in Lahore on Friday, Justice Dogar and other officials received the CEC. Mr. Krishnamurthy visited Lahore Museum and paid a visit to the shrine of 11th century saint Hazrat Syed Ali Hajveri popularly known as Data Gunj Bakhsh. He also visited the office of Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab. Justice Dogar, Naseem Sikandar, Member Election Commission of Pakistan and Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan, Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad accompanied the visiting dignitary. The Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan told Mr. Krishnamurthy that the forthcoming local Government elections will start in July and will be completed by August.
