TIRUNELVELI: : The city traffic police will enforce traffic diversions in the stretch between Chellapandian Roundtana at Vannarpettai and Murugankurichi Signal in view of the underground drainage work to be taken up there from May 2. A statement from the police said only `one-way traffic' movement of vehicles from west to east on this stretch would be allowed from May 2. But, the movement of two-wheelers would not be restricted. Heavy vehicles and autorickshaws coming from Tuticorin and Tiruchendur to Tirunelveli Junction would take Samathanapuram Junction, Office of Superintendent of Police, Maria Canteen, Palayamkottai bus-stand, Kulavanigarpuram Railway Level-Crossing, Ambasamudhram Road, South Bypass Road and Chellapandian Roundtana. Town buses and autorickshaws coming to Tirunelveli Junction via Palayamkottai should take Samathanapuram Junction, Samathanapuram Police Control Room road, Manakaavalan Pillai Hospital, Lourdhunathan Statue, PPL Marriage Hall, LIC, Palayamkottai bus-stand, Kulavanigarpuram Railway Level-Crossing, Ambasamudhram Road, South Bypass Road and Chellapandian Roundtana. The buses proceeding to Tuticorin and Tiruchendur from the new bus-stand at Vaeinthankulam would take Kulavanigarpuram Railway Level-Crossing, Palayamkottai bus-stand, Maria Canteen, Office of the Superintendent of Police and Samathanapuram Junction.
