HUBLI: The Minister for Animal Husbandry and Wakf, Mirajuddin Patel, has promised to release the annual grant of Rs. 5 lakhs to the Anjuman Hospital and Research Centre to meet the pre- and post-delivery expenses of poor women. Inaugurating the intensive care unit and neo-natal care unit of the hospital here, the Minister regretted that of late there has been an increase in the number of caesarean cases reported in hospitals. Mr. Patel said the medical profession has become more commercial with some doctors chasing money instead of providing relief to patients. As a result, many people have been forced to think twice before going to hospitals, he said. Ismail Kalebudde, former MLC, and Anwar Mudhol, A.H. Bekinalkar, Altaf Kittur and Kashimsab Shiraguppi, councillors, were present.
