Girls lure customers; fall into police net along with pimp

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Four girls and a man allegedly striking deals on their behalf were arrested under the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act at Vasant Vihar in south Delhi on Friday.

According to the police, the pimp Yogesh used to operate under the names of Ajay and Harish and had been involved in two cases at Connaught Place, one at Vasant Kunj and one at Dasna in Uttar Pradesh. He was given to luxurious life and used to place advertisements in newspapers under the names of Captain and Sam.

The prime accused along with the girls was nabbed after Assistant Commissioner of Police, S.C. Sharma, laid a trap near Priya Cinema Complex in Vasant Vihar. On reaching the place along with Yogesh, the girls began to make obscene gestures for alluring the general public.

Subsequently, the police personnel sent constable Murari as a decoy customer to strike a deal with Yogesh, and Constable Ajay was deputed to shadow him and give a signal as soon as the deal was finalised.

On meeting the decoy, Yogesh introduced himself as Ajay and the four girls as Kim, Rose, Shaina and Mrittyka. He said while Kim and Rose were Chinese, Shaina and Mrittyka were Indians. He asked for Rs 1,000 as advance payment from the decoy customers.

At this point the police team swooped in and nabbed all the five accused with the currency notes that had been duly signed by the ACP.

Interrogation of Yogesh revealed that after placing advertisements in newspapers he used to direct the girls to high profile clients in and outside five-star hotels. The contact was maintained with the help of phone numbers.

The girls, who were in the trade due to easy money and for leading a luxurious life, were all residing in rented accommodations in South and South West Delhi.
