Hotels' body to set up institute

To start functioning in Greater Noida

HYDERABAD:
The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), the apex industry association of all hotels and restaurants in India, is starting an Institute of hospitality management in Greater Noida near New Delhi from this academic year.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Saturday, the Secretary-General of FHRAI, Shyam Suri, said the new institute would offer two different four-year degree programmes.
There are 100 seats in the Bachelor of Science course in international hospitality administration and another 60 seats in Bachelor of Arts course in international culinary administration. Sixteen seats are reserved for the members of the FHRAI. Candidates who have passed 10 + 2 course are eligible for admission in the course. The institute is conducting a written test in eight cities across the country between May 17 and June 7. The test would be conducted in Hyderabad on June 2.
The students are required to pay fee of Rs. 2 lakhs per annum.
The FHRAI has signed an agreement with Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL), Switzerland, the oldest hospitality management school in the world. The degrees are certified by EHL and the students are awarded an Indian degree from the Indira Gandhi National Open University.
