CHENNAI: A four-year-old boy was murdered at Pulianthope and his body was found in a bush in the area on Saturday. The boy's uncle, Savulraj, was arrested. A family feud is suspected to be the motive for the crime. The police said they received a complaint from the boy's father, Ravi Wilson, stating that his son had been missing since April 10. A couple of days ago, Savulraj, a relative of Wilson, asked the parents to go to Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, with money to consult a `tantrik' there to trace the boy. The parents went to Andhra Pradesh with money, but Savulraj was not there. They returned to the city and complained to the police that they suspected foul play by Savulraj. The police arrested him and during interrogation it came to light that he murdered the boy. Savulraj told the police that sometime ago, the boy's mother, Ruthkumari, teased him. Upset by her behaviour, he murdered the boy, wrapped the body in a gunny bag and thrown it into the bushes behind the Electricity Board employees' quarters in Basin Bridge.
Youth waylaid
A four-member-gang waylaid a 22-year-old youth and robbed from him a gold chain weighing six grams and a cellular phone at knifepoint on Pallavaram-Thorapakkam Road on Friday night.
