HYDERABAD: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad Commissioner, Chitra Ramachandran, has ordered Health and Sanitation personnel to halt water supply to ice factories using contaminated water based on clinical reports received. Reviewing prevalence of jaundice in the twin cities at a joint coordination meeting here on Saturday, the Commissioner was particular that hotels in Moinbagh, Yakutpura, Fathishahnagar, Talabkatta, Bhadhurpura and Kalapathar of the old city were checked for their water quality and samples collected. Water and sewerage lines should be closed if bacteria presence was detected.
Safe drinking water
The Water Board has been asked to ensure supply of safe drinking water wherever the contaminated connections were cut off.
