BANGALORE: The education fair organised by VTU kicked off at the Palace Grounds here on Saturday. Although the first day's turnout was poor, organisers said that they expected about 20,000 students and parents to visit the fair in the next few days. Inaugurating the fair, the Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, R. Ramalinga Reddy, said that the State Government will initiate action against government schools with poor SSLC pass record. Steps will be taken to improve the academic record of such schools, he said.
