dated May 02, 1955: Elected to Lok Sabha

Mr. H.V. Kamath, the PSP candidate, was on April 30 declared elected to the Lok Sabha from the Hoshangabad Parliamentary Constituency in a by-election. He defeated his Congress rival, Mr. Syed Ahmed by over 30,000 votes. The by-election was caused by the unseating of Mr. Syed Ahmed as a result of the Supreme Court judgement in an election appeal.
