MAHABUBNAGAR: The governing body of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), which met here on Sunday, approved the budget estimates for 2005-2006 for Velugu that was christened by the Congress Government as Indira Kranti Patham. The project director of IKP, Shajahan, presented the budget estimates totalling Rs.33.58 crores, including Rs.90.21 lakhs proposed for the uplift of Chenchu tribals in the district. Explaining the budget estimates for different components, the District Collector, M.Jagadeeshwar, said that Rs.4.11 crores were proposed to be spent on institutional building and Rs.21.57 lakhs on micro financing. The governing body also gave consent to the tentative action plan for 2005-2006 of Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) with an outlay of Rs 991.16 lakhs.
