`Haadu Habba' draws a large crowd

BANGALORE: The "Haadu Habba Basavanagudi" organised by the Nivarana Organisation attracted a large crowd at the Kohinoor Grounds. Inaugurated by the Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, R. Ramalinga Reddy, the event was a tribute to culture, language and music. The ground was filled and the organisers had to arrange for seating on the streets surrounding it as well. The main event was a competition among three teams, which consisted of several rounds such as the conventional Antakshari. Each team consisted of two members. The members of the team one were Upasana Mohan and Kasturi Shankar while team two consisted of Srinivasa Udupa and M.D. Pallavi and Chandrika Gururaj and H.R.K. Prasad constituted the third team. The background score was played by a set of skilled musicians, including Srinivasachar on the guitar, Calib on the base guitar, Krishna Udupa on the keyboard, Raghunandan on the flute, Arun Kumar on rhythm and Madhusudan on tabla.
