Sudarshan says State has friendly environment

BANGALORE: The Chairman of the Legislative Council, V.R. Sudarshan, said Karnataka has a friendly environment and welcomes people from other regions who want to come and work here.

Speaking at the function organised by the International Integrity Peace and Friendship Society to observe International Labour Day here on Sunday, Mr. Sudarshan said this is the reason why Karnataka is attracting global investors. This is turn will help in employment generation, he said.

There is a lot of scope for industrial growth in the State and it is the responsibility of not just the Government but also civil society to facilitate this growth. S.R. Morey, Minister for Municipal Administration, said a peaceful society and nation can achieve progress and development. Mr. Morey gave away awards to people who had contributed to the welfare of the labour force. The Hind Rattan Award was given to Ram Babulal Jajodia; the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award was presented to Y.S.Kiran. The recipients of the Mother Teresa Excellence Award were K.T.N. Meenkashi, Geetha S. Rao, Vijay Dodmani, Dr. C.A. Kishore and Raghavendra S. Katti.
