Rape & middle class

This refers to Kalpana Sharma's article, `Rape and the middle class' (Magazine, May 1). Not a day passes without incidents of ghastly attacks on young women, especially in big metros. Our attempts to check the erosion of our values have remained at best half-hearted. The erosion began as early as in the era of the Mahabharata when great personalities remained mute spectators to the disrobing of Draupadi. We must act fast.
