6 naxals surrender

WARANGAL: Five naxals belonging to the CPI (Maoist) and the Janashakti surrendered before the police in the presence of villagers at Peddapur in Atmakur mandal on Monday.

Departing from the usual practice of making naxalites surrender at the District Police Office, officials have decided to do it in villages to send a message across to people. The Hasanparthy Circle Inspector, K. Surender, said naxalites who wanted to join the mainstream could do so by just walking into the nearest police station.
