ANANTAPUR: Except confirming the statements made voluntarily by the six accused during their surrender before the police and during their interrogation by the district police, the probe by Central Bureau of Investigation into the Paritala Ravindra murder case has not found anything new. The CBI, during its three-month probe, has identified channels of funding. However, it has not been able to pinpoint the sources of funds. As per the chargesheet filed in the AJFCM court here on April 26, the CBI has come to the conclusion that the murder was a result of rivalry between the families of Ravindra and Suri, the main accused in the present case.
Main accused
The others named in the chargesheet are Julakanti Srinivasa Reddy, P. Narayana Reddy, V. Rekhamaiah, B. Ranganayakulu, A. Kondaiah alias Konda, V. Srinivasulu alias Seena, M. Obi Reddy, K. Ramamohan Reddy, G. Venkatarami Reddy, T. Peddi Reddy, V. Hanumantha Reddy and T. Konda Reddy. On the names mentioned in the FIR -- Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, G. Bhanumati and J.C. Diwakar Reddy -- the chargesheet notes that "investigation against them is continuing." However, there is no mention of the Rayalaseema IG, R.P. Meena. In the original FIR, Mr. Meena was merely referred to as "a senior police officer.'' Further, the chargesheet says investigation against V. Anandkumar Reddy, P. Goverdhan Reddy and B. Venkataswamy, who were arrested in the case, is continuing. M. Obi Reddy, V. Hanumantha Reddy and K. Ramamohan Reddy played key roles in providing logistic and financial support to the six-member action team that consisted of J. Srinivasa Reddy, P. Narayana Reddy, V. Rekhamaiah B. Ranganayakulu, A. Konda and V. Seena, the chargesheet discloses. Besides, K. Ramamohan Reddy and G. Venkatarami Reddy have provided communication facilities to the other accused case by purchasing mobile phones and SIM cards on fictitious names. "Most of the SIM cards and mobile phones used by Suri were supplied by Obi Reddy and Ramamohan Reddy." On the procurement of weapons for the operation, the chargesheet says that "at the instance of Suri and using the funds provided by Hanumantha Reddy, Srinivasa Reddy procured five weapons --- two.38 mm revolvers, one.32 mm revolver, one 9 mm carbine and one 9 mm pistol." According to the chargesheet, Suri met the other accused in the Cherlapalli jail and entrusted various assignments to accomplish the objective of the conspiracy.
