Development of Vizag port suggested

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has come up with proposals to the State Government to develop Vizag port on sound lines to generate employment and improve local economy.

The FICCI has suggested that the port be developed for `free trade' on the lines of Jebel Ali port in Dubai. The suggestions were made to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at the national executive committee meeting of FICCI here on Monday. Its president, Onkar S. Kanwar, also made a proposal to Dr. Reddy to showcase the State as `Destination Andhra Pradesh' for investments.
