Six killed in road accidents

BANGALORE: Six people, including a six-year-old girl, were killed in separate road accidents in and around Bangalore since Sunday morning.

The police said that around 11.40 a.m. on Sunday an earth-mover rammed a bicycle on which Pavithra Francis (6) was riding with her parents on 2nd Cross, Kalynanagar, off Kullappa Circle. As Pavithra fell, the vehicle ran over her, killing her instantaneously. Pavithra's parents, who suffered serious injuries, have been hospitalised.

Govindan (22) of Tamil Nadu was killed when a lorry hit his motorcycle on Hosur Road, off Garvebaviplaya, around 4 p.m. on Sunday.A pedestrian, Shanthappa alias Shantharaj, was killed when a BMTC bus knocked him down on Raja Rammohan Roy Road, off Kanteerva Stadium, around 5.30 p.m. on Sunday.

An unidentified man aged around 25 was killed when a lorry hit his motorcycle on Old Madras Road, off old Kissan Food Products factory, around 3 p.m. on SundayAn unidentified man aged around 30 was killed when a tractor hit his scooter near Yentaganahalli on Nelamangala-Kunigal Road in Nelamangala police station limits on Monday.

In another incident reported from Bangalore Rural district on Monday, a pedestrian, Venkatappa (55) of Kogilu, was killed when a motorcycle hit him on Kogilu-Bellahalli Road around 7.30 a.m.
