BANGALORE: A tanker and two lorries were destroyed and a rice mill was damaged in a fire that broke out while chemicals were being unloaded from the tanker to barrels at Channapatna town in Bangalore Rural district on Sunday night. Police said the incident occurred around 11.30 p.m. at Cauvery Chemicals on Sathnur Road. Solvent used for rubber manufacturing was being unloaded from the tanker that was stationed on a vacant site next to Cauvery Chemicals. As fire broke out, the tanker and the two lorries that had come there to carry the solvent barrels were destroyed. The fire spread to the adjoining Rehman Rice Mill, destroying its doors, windows and roof, the police said. Four fire tenders put out the fire. No casualty was reported. The Channapatna East police have registered a case.
